We met in the spring of 2024 in Amsterdam. Our first date was a casual walk through the Oosterpark followed by drinks at Bar Bukowski. This is where Suddenly became Forever.

Ilse & Cor

In April of 2025, we went to visit Cor’s brother Paul in New York city. A few days before Cor popped the question, we practiced our first dance on the Brooklyn Bridge!

The engagement

The trip to North America was concluded with a week in southwestern Ontario, where Cor and his family farmed for 14 years.

The first stop was Niagara Falls, where we got engaged!

let us tell you a bit about the person we’re saying yes to on the 17th of october.

The Bride

Ilse grew up in Hengelo, a small city in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Her roots are in the province of Friesland where she spent a lot of time with her Pake & Beppe and family.

Following her studies, she moved to Amsterdam to join a creative advertising agency. Which is why we had our first date at the Oosterpark. In January of this year she moved to The Hague and now works as a Project Manager at Canon’s Creative Hub.

In her free time, she enjoys Dancing trough the house with her headphones on full blast, candy tasting & shopping, developing her own business `Amayadori´, painting, cooking and spending quality time with Cor at the Waterreus on the beach of Scheveningen.

Ilse is the second daughter of Jacob and Roelie Drost. Her family spent a lot of vacation time on the beaches of Texel and France.

In here younger years, Ilse was also an active horse rider and an active member of the church community.

The Groom

Cor grew up on his family’s dairy and cheese farm Boerenkaasmakerij De Negen Morgen in Assendelft, a small village part of the Zaanstreek, north-west of Amsterdam.

In the early nineties, his family immigrated to Ontario Canada to continue the family business. Cor returned to Europe for his Masters in Wageningen and moved to Switzerland in 2007 to start a new job at John Deere.

Farm machinery remains his passion and keeps him professionally occupied. In his free time, he loves spending quality time with Ilse, skiing in Austria and visiting friends and family.

Just like Ilse, Cor comes from a family of four and we both have two sisters and a younger brother 😊.

Fun facts

While growing up, Cor’s favorite way to spend his free time was helping out on the farm. This is where his passion for tractors and farm machinery originated.
We did not plan it, but somehow managed to go on one vacation a month in our first year together.
Ilse's shoes and wedding ring fit perfectly inside Cor's.
Our age difference is 10 years, except for the month of October (our wedding month). In this month it is only 9 years.
Ilse is a candy connoisseur and coincidentally we said our first "I love you" in the Jamin (candy store) when Cor picked up a chocolate I love you sign.
Cor met his Best Man Freek in 2007. They both worked at Alltech AND Lely, but never at the same time. This picture was taken in 2022, raising a toast to the late Pearse Lyons, founder of Alltech.
